Antiperspirants?

If you’re in a pickle, and profuse sweating is a problem for you, you have many ways to go about it. Some of them include using antiperspirants, medications, Botox injections, and even surgery. Of all of these alternatives, you should first try antiperspirants, since they are non-invasive. Let’s take a look at antiperspirants and learn what you should know about them to get the best results possible.

Antiperspirants (including deodorants with antiperspirant) are applied on the surface of the skin, and they’re designed to block the sweating glands to limit them from producing sweat. Heavy duty antiperspirants are commonly made with aluminum salts. However, depending on the area, and on how profuse is your sweating you might need to use more than one kind of antiperspirant.

For example, hands and feet usually require more quantities of antiperspirant than the armpits. If you have sensitive skin, you should always consult with your dermatologist before using this kind of antiperspirant. There are a lot of types of antiperspirants that are made with ingredients for sensitive skin, which can be a good thing to avoid irritation.

A good tip is to apply the antiperspirant during the key hours of your daily schedule for the most effective results. It’s always recommended to apply it both at mornings and nights. But if you see the need, you can also apply it during the day – as needed. This way you’ll get better results as long as you need it.

Ideally, the antiperspirant should remain on your skin for at least 8 hours. The skin must be completely dry before applying. For those that shave their armpits, or go through other depilation procedures, they should always consult with a dermatologist to find out what antiperspirant is best for them.

To see some kind of results, specialized antiperspirants should be used for weeks before noticing any kinds of improvement.
